Hello all! I just wanted to give a small update since I have not been blogging  too much due to my broken foot. Both girls are sick at the moment. Iyla was first then passed it on to her sister, who then gave it back to Iyla again. It is so not fun trying to care for two sick kids while dealing with a broken foot. I can't move very fast and it's hard to stand for a long time and Iyla really likes to be carried around when she is sick.

My foot is healing I think because it's almost itchy. I have never broken a bone before so I really don't have anything to compare it to. This boot the DR gave me is too big and it's hard to keep my foot from wiggling around in it.

As my would have been due date approches (feb 28th) it is getting hard not to think about it. I am trying to stay positive but having to rest because of my foot gives me WAY to much time to think. And it doesn't help that most of my girlfriends are pregnant. I am so excited for them but really sad for me. When I say most I am talking at least 15 of my friends on facebook are pregnant at the moment. every time I log on there is another picture of an ultrasound or a comment about morning sickness. It's so different for me this time around. With my first miscarriage I was pregnant again right away. This time I am not. And my the looks of things it's going to be a while before I can even work on it. So I have to just let time pass and focus on other things.

Jacob's job is doing great and he really loves it. He is also having fun with his calling at church. He taught Sunday School a few weeks ago and did a great job!

Iyla is turning 18 months next week and then she can start Nursery! It is going to be very exciting not having to wander the halls with a fussy baby anymore!!

It's been a week!

Hello all my millions of reader (i wish!) I am so sorry I have not been blogging lately. I do have a good reason though. I broke my foot! That's right... broke! It's not too bad but sitting at the computer is hard to do so I have not been writing. I am stuck in this boot thing for the next 6 to 8 weeks. Which is a huge bummer since I was really starting to enjoy walking more. It's not even a cool story either. I didn't break it while skiing or something cool like that. Nope,I just stepped off a curb funny and heard a crack. Pretty lame I know but that's the truth.

Well, as I start to heal I am sure I will be able to sit at this computer longer. Until then, feel free to go back and read past postings! Love you all!

Healthy Food vs. Un-Healthy Food

Today we had to go to the Olympia food Co-Op to pick up our bulk order of oat groats.
Before we could get the 25 pound bag I needed somewhere to put it when we got it home. Lattin's Country Cider Mill sell buckets for $2.50 each which is what I wanted to put the oat groats in.

Last night Jacob and I were talking about our day today and what we needed to do and we decided to do a mini unit of sorts for Bella's school about where our food comes from. We pulled out the grocery store circulars from the recycle bin and cut out a ton of food pictures for the art portion of the lesson.

This morning we dressed the girls is their best farm attire, cute pig tails, overalls and sneakers. We went out to the cider mill for the morning. We just love it there. They have a country farm, market, and lots of animals. The goats are the girls favorite. We got the girls a bag of feed and let them feed the goats. Iyla took a little bit to get comfortable with the friendly goats but eventually let them lick the feed off her hands

Isabella loved the white one the most! She was really good about staying still and letting the goats lick the feed off her hands

Isabella got a kick out of the goat with the brown head taking our bag and trying to eat it!!

After we finished with the goats we bought our buckets and a few honey sticks for a treat [all the fresh cider donuts they make have dairy in them :-(  ] We loaded back into the van and headed over to the food co-op.

Isabella had not been there yet and she we so excited to see all the foods there that were dairy free. Thank goodness we have a market for vegan groceries around here. We found lots of things that she can have. One of our favorites was a vegan cream replacement. It was coconut free too! You can use it to even make Ice cream. We will have to get some when it warms ups a bit.

When we got home we had lunch and then pulled out the pictures Jacob and I cut out. We made a chart and sorted the pictures by healthy and un healthy foods. Isabella glued them on the poster.

We had fun talking about why foods were healthy. Isabella kept trying to put foods she did not like into the un-healthy section. I told her that even if she doesn't like green beans they are very healthy!!

Here is the finished project. It's hanging on the fridge so we can remember to eat healthy food. What a fun day! The girls are taking naps now and I think I just might join them!!

My Little Monkey

She's at it again!! This kid is a climber like none other I have seen!! Her newest adventure is trying to get on top of furniture.

This picture is of Iyla on top of the Organ!!

She was so excited. I on the other hand WAS NOT!!!

Luckily we caught her before she was able to knock over the fish bowl or the nuts!!

To give you an idea of how high she is here is an old picture of Isabella and a friend playing on the organ.

Needless to say, we have to again re think baby proofing around here!! YIKES!!

It doesn't just happen to kids...

I have a double ear infection! Can you believe it! I can't. I thought only kids got ear infections. But I've got it and it stinks! Now I REALLY I understand why kids get so cranky when they have ear infections. I have to take some mondo antibiotics to clear it up. Sheesh, if it's not one thing it's another!! I was wondering why I was feeling sick! I am!!

Also we are retesting to see if the round of Vitamin D I did worked. If it did then I can move on to a daily supplement but if not I will have ot go see a specialist to see what's wrong. I am hopeful things are getting better and my body is doing a better job absorbing the vitamins. We'll get this all figured out soon enough!!
